This mess started out as a guide to bagging an adequate male for yerself once ye'r past it. However, it's evolved rapidly into a collective, collaborative space for ideas to grow, recommendations to be made, stories to be told and fun to be had.

City High
I'm experiencing some hard-hitting flashbacks to singing this obsessively every break time for at least a year with my un-madeup school friends. Bastille know how to twist the shit out of childhood memories...
Shameless
Michael Fassbender and Carey Mulligan, ultimate. Date night is set for The Old Maid and her Loyal Minder...
Reckless Abandon
This is the best version of this track I've ever come across. Everything about it is wonderfully lovely and sweet.
Sleepy Head
Perfect thing to wake up from a nap from. And they're having so much fun making these noises. I've fallen in love all over again.
Star Girl
"Did you see her?"
That was the first thing Kevin said to me on the first day of school, eleventh grade. We were waiting for the bell to ring.
"See who?" I said.
"Hah!" He craned his neck, scanning the mob. He had witnessed something remarkable; it showed on his face. He grinned, still scanning. "You'll know."

When the sky would ring like bronze
The drive home was uneventful. I left the car is Stover's drive-way. The rear seat was covered with blood. There was blood on the steering wheel, more blood on the dashboard and door handles. The scientific study of cultural behaviour and development of man. Anthropology.
I went upstairs and watched the kids a while. All asleep, fumbling through their dreams, eyes rapidly moving beneath closed lids. I got into bed next to Babette, fully dressed except for my shoes, somehow knowing she wouldn't think it strange. But my mind kept racing, I couldn't sleep. After a while I went down to the kitchen to sit with a cup of coffee, feel the pain in my wrist, the heightened pulse.
There was nothing to do but wait for the next sunset, when the sky would ring like bronze.

Landscape of Pain
In the landscape of pain, only three responses of real interest are possible; violent action, the probe of "ideas", and the transcendence of sudden, arbitrary, romantic love.

Confession
So twitter tells me that Will.i.am and Justin Bieber are soon going to be collaborating. Is it a terrible thing to confess that I'm somewhat excited?

You are the hole in my head
You are the space in my bed.
I know I probably shouldn't admit this, "sellout" and all, but I think I quite like this track...

I'm a lonely boy
Just heard this on the radio. I'm in love. And the lyrics are so fucking accurate to much of my life. Love it.
Brunchin' it
Just had a really good morning of a mates' date brunch in Whetherspoons with my good pal Mr Maximus Prime. We enjoyed hash browns, pancakes, cigarettes, orange juice and, most importantly, really good chocolate chip and vanilla latte frappes from Belle and Jerome in West Bridgford.
That's just how to do brunch, kids, it was just what the doctor ordered.

Busily seeking with a continual change
They flee from me that sometime did me seek
With naked foot, stalking in my chamber.
I have seen them gentle, tame, and meek,
That now are wild and do not remember
That sometime they put themself in danger
To take bread at my hand; and now they range,
Busily seeking with a continual change.
Thanked be fortune it hath been otherwise
Twenty times better; but once in special,
In thin array after a pleasant guise,
When her loose gown from her shoulders did fall,
And she me caught in her arms long and small;
Therewithall sweetly did me kiss
And softly said, “Dear heart, how like you this?”
It was no dream: I lay broad waking.
But all is turned thorough my gentleness
Into a strange fashion of forsaking;
And I have leave to go of her goodness,
And she also, to use newfangleness.
But since that I so kindly am served
I would fain know what she hath deserved.

The Greatest
Feels like a relatively appropriate sentiment about my first day back at university... Thanks mainly to my shavey tiwn and pole-dancing pal...
Time Wasting Special, number one
So this is what I find myself watching in the library instead of essays study and critical postings galore. My academic library neighbours around me are totally judging me for it as well.
Aye well, this is Birmingham after all...

'Oliday Snaps
These aren't quite your typical collection of holiday photographs. These images are the work of a good friend, Miss Jodie Herbage, who snapped the majority of these on her various travels over the past few months. She has an eye for this, to say the least...
